Private Bank Mortgages

If you are a wealthy borrower requiring a large mortgage, then a private bank may be the answer. Private banks can offer mortgages on extremely competitive terms to the right sort of client but they are notoriously difficult to access and you must apply via a mortgage broker to do so.

Some private banks offer competitive deals because they want to build a relationship with the borrower and take the long-term view. This usually means the borrower transferring assets under management (AUM) over to the lender, in the form of savings, investments, a pension or even artwork. However, not all private banks ask for this.
